Flower pot

The color is off in this pic. The top really is a shade lighter than the bottom blue.

Tiger Lily

Of Course, I would paint a Tiger Lily while at Auburn.
Those of you who know me, know how old this must be.
"Back in the day" I would paint fabric squares and make pillows to sell.
This one never made it to a pillow.

Hanky....

A little pretty that is on Ebay. I Heart it, but I have no need for a Valentine Hanky.

Stamps

Those of you who have ever received cards and letters from me know, I always treat you with a cool stamp. (you should be saving those...hint,hint.) This is the style I bought today, when I discovered I had used up all of my Jamestown stamps at Christmas.

The Beautiful Blooms set gave me a bit of Spring Fever. ( a little early for that.)

Available on line at USPS.

Sadly, the VERY cool triangle Settlement of Jamestown stamps look to be sold out.

Thinking about my bottle tree.

I've been wanting a bottle tree for a long, long, time. The first one I ever saw was way back when I was at AU. I kinda had a bottle tree (bush)while we were at Bell Road, and I moved my small collection of Blue bottles. After almost loosing the collection to a clean up effort, (I can see where they may look like drunken garbage)I decided I better plan my bottle tree here at ThirteenEleven. Our yard here is still a bit of an overgrown kudzu jungle, and I think there is a fine line from a bottle tree looking junky rather than artsy, cool, and historic so I am not sure the timing is right for the tree. These are some Ideas that I like, I tend to favor the more organic looking trees over the post looking trees, and I definitely like the all cobalt blue trees over the multi colored trees.

Russian Icons

Yesterday, I decided to drop by the local Art Museum. (Originally a jail.)

I went to see a private collection of Russian Icons.
I thought I would share these snaps from my cell phone of the one and only.......
SAINT NICOLAS
a little closer.......... he looks like "the one".
this representation must be a younger version...
and here........ another representation of Saint Nick....
It is hard to believe these are egg tempera on wood/board and several centuries old.
There are actually a number of Russian Icons listed on ebay......

You have to see this blog....DailyCoyote

All of the photographs are copyrighted (or I would show one here)but there are some incredible pictures that tell the story of raising a coyote, Charlie, in the wilds of Wyoming. Love it!!!!
